Come to the youth showcase and summit Saturday

The event – which will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. at Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St. – will feature art and peace making workshops, performances, free food and refreshments.
Several musicians will perform Sept. 8 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome at the free event, which is sponsored by the Chicago Park District.
The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 2 at Douglass High School, 543 N. Waller Ave.
The third annual fest – which will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 1 at Columbus Park Refectory, 5701 W. Jackson Blvd. – features musicians Sharon Monique and West End 40.
The issue will be discussed from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at 5049 W. Harrison. The discussion is part of ongoing efforts to write a quality of life plan for the community, led by Austin Coming Together and LISC Chicago.
Tonight’s event will feature dozens of West Side performers, including the Good Neighbor Girls – a new Austin dance group – from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davis Play Lot, 5437 W. Division St.
Robert J. Urso, PCC’s president and CEO, welcomed guests at an open house earlier this week at the Oak Park facility, and state Sen. Don Harmon made remarks.
The free event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Columbus Park Refectory, 5701 W. Jackson Blvd.
Registration starts at 9 a.m., then the biking begins at 10 a.m. There will be music and snacks before the ride, which sets out from BUILD’s headquarters at 5100 W. Harrison St.
There will be free food, fun and games, and prizes from 12 to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at 5100 W. Harrison St. All ages are welcome!
