The Cook County Bar Association Foundation will host a free public forum April 9 on what to do if your landlord fails to make repairs to your home.
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is sponsoring the April 9th event, which will offer information about summer jobs, internships and youth programs.
This month’s activity – to be held at the Austin branch from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 28 – is learning to arm knit and finger crochet.
The free session will be held March 26 and then again on March 28 at 5615 W. Race Ave.
The Chicago Department of Transportation is seeking input from local residents at a community meeting March 21 at the Austin Library, 5615 W. Race.
Ald. Emma Mitts is sponsoring the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethel New Life. Bring a resume and dress professionally.
Tickets are $5 for the show, which is being staged March 17 and 18 at the Austin Town Hall.
Local elected officials will host a job readiness workshop, then play a basketball game with participants at the March 19 event held at Austin’s former YMCA, 501 N. Central Ave.
The city of Chicago is offering free help for qualified individuals at several sites, including Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St., on Saturdays through April 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This year, the deadline to file taxes is Monday, April 18.
