Time is running out to register for this year’s Austin P.O.W.E.R. run/walk that will be held Saturday, Sept. 17. Registration is $35 per person, or $300 for groups of 10. Sign up now!

Fathers Who Care will be distributing school supplies at a community health and wellness day Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4731 W. Madison St.
The training will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 31 at The Loretto Hospital. Behavioral health clinicians from the hospital and Maryville Academy will show participants how to administer Narcan, which can reverse the effects of an overdose.
Faith leaders gathered outside Michele Clark High School Monday morning to offer prayers and show their support for students after a shooting near the school last week. A teacher at the school is raising money to support students’ emotional and physical safety.
The Austin Garden Collective needs your help. Join local residents and other gardeners at the 624 N. Lorel Community Garden from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 27. Refreshments will be served.
