Polls opened today at 6 a.m. at hundreds of precincts on the West Side.
Voters may cast their ballots until 7 p.m. for mayor and for the Chicago City Council as well as vote on a non-binding referendum about whether the city should have an elected school board. In the 29th Ward, voters will also get to weigh in on the subject of domestic violence, which Ald. Deborah Graham said is more important than an elected school board, according to DNAinfo.
In the 29th Ward, seven candidates are challenging Ald. Graham: Lawrence Andolino, Bob Galhotra, Oddis Johnson, Stephen Robinson, Zerlina Smith, Chris Taliaferro and La Coulton Walls. Learn more here.
