Chicago Police release age-enhanced photo of missing Austin teen

The Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune reported over the weekend that police are circulating a photo of what Yasmin Acree could look like three years after the 15-year-old disappeared from her West Side home.

Chicago Police Department Superintendent Jody Weis said Saturday he hopes the new photo will generate tips.

Classmates of Yasmin’s at Austin Polytechnical Academy gathered last month at the school to remember their friend, who went missing in January 2008 and would be a senior this year at the school.

Although there are no leads in Yasmin’s disappearance – which the police originally treated as a runaway case and later admitted they had not acted quickly enough – her friends and family remain hopeful they will find her.

Anyone with information about Yasmin should call 312-746-8365.
