They say amending the Illinois expungement and sealing law could give reformed offenders a fair chance at obtaining jobs and housing.
Rep. La Shawn Ford is partnering with Weinstein Meats and Gusto Packing to provide more than 500 gifts to George Leland Elementary students Dec. 15.
The event, hosted by Columbia College Chicago, addressed the decline in employment opportunities for young people.
The event, sponsored by Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, the Chicago Urban League and others, will take place at Malcolm X College.
The meeting will be held May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ronald McNair Elementary School, 4820 W. Walton. For more information, contact the West Side lawmaker’s office.
