Ald. Chris Taliaferro says $700,000 in funding will pay for six projects – ranging from community gardens and murals to pedestrian islands and park equipment. Six months of community meetings and two weeks of voting determined how the menu money will be spent.
The last day to cast your vote is Saturday, June 4th. This is the first year West Siders have been asked to weigh in on how Ald. Chris Taliaferro will spend $700,000 in menu money.
Jason Ervin, who represents the 28th Ward in the Chicago City Council, was not available for comment, but a spokesman confirmed the elected official is “Individual A” named in a criminal complaint filed against Franshuan Myles of Divine Praise Inc.
29th Ward Ald. Chris Taliaferro has joined forces with other officials wanting to regulate the commercial vehicles after recent shootings.
Jason Ervin and Chris Taliaferro rejected the spending plan, while Emma Mitts and Michael Scott supported it.
The longtime alderman discussed several issues at her annual state of the ward address last week.
