Summer meals available for CPS students starting this week

Free meals are available starting this week and running through early August at hundreds of locations across Chicago, including more than a dozen in Austin.
Michele Clark High School is the first to provide waffles as a new breakfast item at CPS. The school will be renovating one of its cafeterias over the summer to create a food court experience.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository’s food bus will be stopping at the Austin library, 5615 W. Race Ave., from 3 to 3:20 p.m. each weekday from June 25 to Aug. 31 (except July 4).
The first 100 people to arrive MacArthur’s restaurant at 5412 W. Madison St. between 8 and 10 a.m. Dec. 22 will receive a free breakfast. Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is hosting the event.

It will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., on a first-come, first-serve basis, at Alice’s restaurant, 5638 W. Chicago Ave. La Coulton J. Walls, a candidate running for the 29th Ward seat, is the sponsor.
