Attend restorative justice summit this week

The two-day event, which will be held at BUILD Chicago’s campus in Austin, will be rooted in the guiding values of restorative justice, and participants will be introduced to approaches that address equity, harm, conflict and proactive community building in ways that center relationships and avoid exclusion.

Stop by Jamaican Grill, at 5241 W. Chicago Ave., from 12 to 8 p.m. for its grand opening. Between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. there will be black economic empowerment rally (B.E.E.R.) in the heart of the Soul City Corridor.

Attend next week’s inauguration

Reserve your free tickets to the May 15th ceremony, where Brandon Johnson will be sworn in as mayor along with the 50 members of the Chicago City Council. Doors open for the 10:30 a.m. inauguration two hours ahead of time; it will be held at Credit Union 1 Arena (UIC Pavilion), 525 S. Racine Ave.
