On Feb. 12, see “Rustin,” a movie produced by former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. “Stamped from the Beginning” will be shown Feb. 26, and there will be optional viewings of “Leave the World Behind” on either Feb. 19 or Feb. 29.

Two schools in Austin participate in Sistema Ravinia, which provides music education in under-resourced schools. The goal is for the 3rd through 8th graders to develop a life-long appreciation for music and the arts. “The bottom line is that it helps to develop the whole child. It helps to develop the left and right brain,” said Shemeka Nash, the orchestra’s conductor and an Austin resident.
