It will be an open mic talent showcase from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at 5437 W. Division St.
All are invited to participate in the event, moderated by Vera Davis and presented by Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin and BUILD.
The public is invited to the see the documentary “Heading West: A History of African Americans on Chicago’s West Side” and participate in a post-screening discussion at Garfield Park Conservatory.
Community leaders will share information about how those working as police officers, firefighters, teachers and emergency medical technicians could be eligible.
In-person counselors can help West Sider residents enroll for the first time or change coverage under the Affordable Care Act on Jan. 30 and 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Loretto Hospital, 645 S. Central Ave.

There will be games, music, prizes, food and more starting at 5:30 p.m. at Christ the King Jesuit Prep, 5088 W. Jackson Blvd.
Children in 3rd grade or older are invited to participate in the Chicago Children’s Choir; attend a special event 4:15 p.m. Jan. 25 at Austin Town Hall.
The free event, organized by ACCESS and Fathers Who Care, will be 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 25.
