There will be goat milking, live blues music, free lemonade and fresh farm products on sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at GlennArt Pasture, one block east of the farm at 457 N. Waller. From 8 to 9 a.m watch goat milking — or try your hand at it yourself — at GlennArt Farm (behind the house at 5749 W. Midway Park).
West Siders will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 10th to discuss the development and support for a new school as part of Austin’s Good Neighbor Campaign.
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin, the Peace Makers Coalition and North Austin Council invite West Siders from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 at 5730 W. Division St. Special guests expected to participate in the event include Ald. Chris Taliafero, Congressman Danny K. Davis and state Rep. Camille Lilly.
The Austin Chamber of Commerce and Westside Branch of the NAACP is holding the town hall discussion 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the North Austin library branch, 5724 W. North Ave.
West Siders are invited 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 30 to Austin Town Hall to share concerns and priorities about dangerous driving behaviors as part of the city’s Vision Zero Chicago initiative.
Inspiration Kitchens invites West Side residents to the free event 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at 3504 W. Lake St. Youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Help come up with viable solutions for reducing violence and healing from trauma Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at BUILD’s headquarters, 5100 W. Harrison St. The free event for people of all ages will feature raffle prizes.
The free event, sponsored by West Side Men, Austin Weekly News and Loretto Hospital, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 30.
All ages are welcome this Saturday, Sept. 16 at BUILD, 5100 W. Harrison St. Registered riders will receive a free T-shirt and water bottle, while supplies last. There will be music and snacks before the ride, which starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. Loaner bikers will be available for those 16 and younger; there also will be a limited number of DIvvy bikes available for those 18 and up.
