Everyone running in the March 20 primary for Cook County assessor has been invited to the forum, which will be held at 11 a.m. March 3 at Sankofa, 5820 W. Chicago Ave. The Chicago Westside NAACP chapter organized the event.
The seven working groups will meet from Feb. 26 through March 7 at Austin Coming Together’s offices at 5049 W. Harrison. The working groups are: public safety, youth, housing, civil engagement, education, economic development and community narrative.
Tickets are $30 for the fundraiser being held from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 24. The event is being held at BUILD, 5100 W. Harrison St.
Celebrate the rich history of Africa and African-American history through music, dance and community from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St.
Stop by St. Paul Lutheran School’s gymnasium, 846 N. Menard Ave., from 12 to 6 p.m. Feb. 18. Free sampling from noon to 4 p.m.

The city of Chicago in partnership with the Center for Economic Partnership and Ladder Up is providing the assistance citywide through mid-April.
