State Rep. Camille Lilly is hosting the event at Guerin College Prep High School in River Grove from 12:30 to 6 p.m. June 30th.
Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS have partnered with community groups to provide testing and counseling from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 27 at 22 Chicago Walgreens locations, including six in the Austin area.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository’s food bus will be stopping at the Austin library, 5615 W. Race Ave., from 3 to 3:20 p.m. each weekday from June 25 to Aug. 31 (except July 4).
The annual event, organized by BUILD, has been postponed due to weather. The “summer of opportunity” celebration will be held Friday, Aug. 17.
Give an hour each Wednesday in June and July to stand with others in the community. There are four locations in the 25th Chicago Police District where residents, wearing red, will be meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. starting June 20th.
There will be free food, music and resources from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street.
Assistance on receiving a property tax freeze will be available from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 13 at the Austin Satellite Senior Center, 5071 W. Congress Parkway. Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin and Lilliam Drummond are hosting the free event.
