Oct. 30 is the deadline for residents and business owners to apply to FEMA for disaster assistance in the wake of the summer flooding.
All are welcome at the free events, which start Friday evening with a trunk or treat event at the northeast corner of Central and Harrison and end Sunday with a family fall festival at Chicago West Bible Church, 5916 W. Lake St.
Applications are being accepted for the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). More than $200 million has been set aside to help eligible residents pay their heating bills this winter.
The free community event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 21 at 600 N. Lorel Ave. There will be a resource fair, giveaways, snacks and more.
To register for the conversation, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at BUILD Inc., 5100 Harrison St., scan the QR code or visit chicagopolice.org/convo.
Vivaldi will be the featured composer at the Oct. 17 concert, which will be held at the Kehrein Center for the Arts. Register in advance for the performance.
The nine Austin sites include Fraternite Notre Dame, the Kehrein Center for the Arts, BUILD and the North Austin Center. Admission is free.
There will be free dinner bites, a chef panel about starting a food business in Austin, a mac and cheese cook off and more! Space is limited for this Oct. 11 event, so RSVP now.
With the Oct. 16 deadline to apply for assistance approaching, a resource fair will be held Saturday at which West Side residents can get help with their applications.
Sign up today to compete in the contest, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at 1150 N. Lamon. The competition is open to amateurs and professionals.
