Work out for free this week at Chicago park facilities

Work out for free Dec. 31 and Jan. 2-4 at all Chicago Park District fitness centers throughout the city.  The facilities feature state-of-the-art equipment such as computerized treadmills, cross trainers, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, free weights and benches, cable cross-overs, multi-station weight machines and core-focused weight equipment.

After a free week of fitness, you can sign up for a membership. Single site passes can be purchased monthly, for three months or for 12 months. Fees range from $10 to $20 for a monthly pass; $30 to $60 for a three-month pass; and $100-$225 for an annual pass.

There’s also a gold card, which gives the user access to all park district fitness centers. It costs $200.

Fitness classes, taught by nationally certified and professional instructors, range from group exercise instruction to personal training and cardio dance. Classes include: kickboxing, fitness boot camp, nutrition, pilates and yoga.
