Learn your HIV status

Planned Parenthood of Illinois is offering free rapid HIV testing at its Austin location and two other Chicago sites.

There are more than 22,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Chicago, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Despite declines in the number of people dying from HIV-related problems, HIV continues to be in the top 10 leading causes of death, ranking fourth among people between the ages of 34-55 who died in Chicago.

Someone with HIV can have few or no symptoms for up to 10 years or more before symptoms of AIDS develop. The only way to know your status is to get tested.

HIV testing at Planned Parenthood of Illinois is confidential, and results are given in the same day. The free testing, which will be available for a limited time, is targeting people who don’t have health insurance or cannot pay for healthcare.
