A “birthday party” benefit luncheon will follow at noon with proceeds going to the church’s Austin Scholarship Fund that supports college-bound Austin area high school seniors.

Third Unitarian has awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships since starting the fund nearly 40 years ago. (To read about last year’s scholarship winners, click here.)

Sunday’s benefit luncheon will include special dishes prepared by church member “chefs and will include pasta, turkey, sweet potato pie, green salads, desserts and other delights. Donations are $3 a child; $5 an adult; and $13 per family.

Additional donations are encouraged to support a special scholarship named in honor of a recently deceased scholarship committee member, Anita McChriston.
