The P.O.S.T. Coalition wants residents to meet at the Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph, to show support this Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at a rally to stop post office closures.

According to Rickie, P. Brown, chairman of the West Side Historical Society, 14 South and West Side post offices are at risk of being closed.

Last month, AustinTalks reported rallies took place to protest the possible closures, including three in Austin: 324 S. Laramie Ave., 5001 W. Division St., and 4222 W. Madison St. To read those stories, click here and click here.

Free round-trip transportation will be offered for those who wish to attend Tuesday’s rally.

A town hall meeting is scheduled after the rally at New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 W. Washington Blvd., sponsored by the Rev. Marshall Hatch and  U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis.
