More than 60 officers stopped by Friday for breakfast or ice cream as part of the 1st annual day of appreciation for Chicago Police Department’s 15th District.
Local residents also enjoyed the day-long event, which was organized by Roman Morrow, a former 29th Ward candidate, and Austin business owner James Spearman.

Spearman and his wife Marge, who run The Office & Genesis at 5811 W. Chicago Ave., provided the free breakfast. Glenda Adams, whose family operates Jabros at 5845 W. Chicago Ave., served the ice cream.
