Admission is free at fitness centers, most fitness classes and lap swims during the Chicago Park District’s “free fitness week,” which runs from Jan. 8 -14.
With dozens of fitness centers, hundreds of fitness classes and more than 20 parks that offer lap swim times, there are many ways to get your new year off to a healthy start.
Registration is required, online or in-person at the park. Advance registration, especially for the most popular classes, is encouraged. All activities are first-come, first-serve based on availability.
Patrons who purchase a fitness center membership during free fitness week receive a free water bottle and towel provided by POWERADE. Offer valid while supplies last only.
The park district’s fitness centers offer computerized treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, free weights and benches, cable cross-overs, mutli-station weight machines and core-focused weight machines.
