Walmart will host a job and hiring resource fair this Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Prosser Career Academy, 2148 N. Long Ave.
The city’s only Walmart – a second store has been approved by the Chicago City Council on the South Side – is being remodeled in preparation for its new 24-hour operation expected to begin in September.
The West Side store is looking for applicants with experience in bakery, deli, meat, produce and dry grocery.
Applicants should bring their resumes Friday to the resource fair, which is co-sponsored by Walmart and Ald. Emma Mitts (37th). All applications must be completed online at www.walmart.com/apply.
“The people in my community need jobs, especially during today’s tough economy,” Mitts said in a statement. “The Walmart job fair seeks to hire those looking for opportunities at the North Avenue store.”
