The Wabash Avenue Music Collective will present a free concert featuring strings, clarinet and voice at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at the Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians will perform Haydn’s String Quartet in D Minor, famous for its opening fifths, casts a melancholy spell, highlighting the expressive range of the strings; Mozart’s Quintet, a masterfully integrated chamber work in which individual strings occasionally sing out from center stage and accented by the clarinet; and Raimi’s Runagate Runagate, which in this performance features mezzo-soprano Sara Dailey.
Tickets are free, but reservations are required. Click here to reserve tickets.
Parking is available on a limited, first-come first-served basis in the lot directly north of the Kehrein Center for the Arts (entrance off Parkside Avenue); the lot to the northeast of the building (entrance off Central Avenue); and the lot on the northeast corner of Washington Boulevard and Central Avenue (entrance off Central).
