Women’s choral group to perform Sunday in Austin

By |

Join C21 Women’s Ensemble Sunday at Columbus Park Refectory as they explore the many ways women shake up the status quo in “Dangerous Women,” a concert inspired by Ariana Grande’s song “Dangerous Woman.”

The concert begins at 4 p.m., with a pre-concert show and reception at 3 p.m. for those who buy VIP tickets.

C21 Artistic Director Martha Swisher has shaped a choral program that highlights feminine tenacity, resilience and power, including works such as Andrea Ramsey and Margaret Walker’s “Lineage” about the strength of our grandmothers and a stunning arrangement of Laura Mvula’s “She.”

Interspersed throughout the program, singers share profiles of dangerous women who have confronted the old order and moved us forward.
