There are a number of pantries and other groups that provide food to West Side residents in need.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository – in partnership with Austin Coming Together – has extended its weekly food handout in Austin by one week. Each household can receive three boxes of food from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Thursday, June 25 outside By The Hand Club for Kids at Leamington and Kinzie.

St Martin De Porres Church Food Pantry at 5112 W. Washington Blvd., which distributes food on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents need to live within the service area of Lake on the north, Roosevelt on the south, Cicero on the east and Central to the west. For those living in the 60624 or 60644 zip code, food is available at Marillac House Food Pantry at 2859 W. Jackson Blvd. on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m.; and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, call (773) 584-4539.
