BUILD Inc. kicks off the Donna Dudley softball peace league tonight at 6:30 Moore Park, 5058 W. Adams St.

The project assists gang members and other at-risk youth in crisis to reduce illegal, anti-social and violent activities through sports.

Ald. Deborah Graham (29th) and 15th District Commander Barbara West are slotted to toss out the first pitch.

BUILD – which stands for Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development – started out as a gang intervention program in one community and now serves over 3,500 youth each year in 11 Chicago communities, including Austin.

The games continue until August, when playoffs will be held. For more information, call 773-227-2880.
