In an attempt to give young people a place to go during spring break, Because I Care Inc., with the help of 15th District police officers, hosted several events last week.

Children enjoyed board games, a movie night, a dance party and the filming of their own version of the Harlem Shake dance.

Students enjoy movie night as part of last week's events.

Local and suburban establishments donated food and refreshments for the 64 students who attended throughout the week.

New Global Destiny International Ministries Inc.’s Apostle Bishop Bridget Outlaw provided hot dogs.

“It was a free for all,” said Roman Morrow, executive director for Because I Care.

Because I Care is also planning a karaoke night April 12 at Genesis on the Ave, 5811 W. Chicago Ave. for Austin area children up to 16 years of age.
