Austin’s Rev. Lewis Flowers dies

The Rev. Lewis Flowers, 62, chairman of the Westside Ministers Coalition, died early Sunday morning.

The West Side advocate and Vietnam War Veteran’s death came after a short illness, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Sun-Times is reporting a celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 116 S. Central Ave. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, 4301 W. Roosevelt Rd., Hillside.
