The Central Austin Neighborhood Association invites residents to participate in a community safety meeting planned to start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock of Our Salvation Evangelical Free Church, 118 N. Central Ave.
According to a news release, the Chicago Police Department recently concluded a narcotics enforcement operation targeting violent street gangs in the area of West End Avenue to Madison Street, Central Avenue to Austin Boulevard in the 15th District.
In the coming days city departments will be providing additional services in the Austin neighborhood, according to the release. The association asks that residents support this activity and help with long-term solutions to maintain and sustain the neighborhood.
Residents are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about this enforcement and service activity and how everyone can play a part in reclaiming the neighborhood.
