To encourage community support and help build relationships that can save lives, state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford is encouraging local residents to join him Wednesday morning for a “Meet and Greet” for the new commander of the 15th District of the Chicago Police Department, Barbara West.
“Though she’s only been on the job for a short while, I’m very impressed with our new police commander and urge local residents to come and meet her in a show of support for our community and our police,” Ford said in a press release.
“At this time of escalating violence, it’s important that we support and work hand-in-hand with those who work to keep us safe,” he said.
