Paid internship available this summer with Ald. Ervin

Ald. Jason Ervin’s office is seeking one college student for its 10-week internship program.

The internship will provide the student valuable work experience in the public sector and city government operations. Interns will be assigned various duties, including researching and analyzing proposed ordinances, and attending community events and meetings.

Student must be in good academic standing, with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale; and be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university offering an associate, baccalaureate or graduate degree program.

Applicants must be able to provide a transcript, resume and current letter of enrollment verification from the school’s registrar or dean. Interns must live within the city of Chicago limits during their work assignment. Proof of residency will be required at the time of employment. The internship program will run from June 15 to Aug. 24.

The deadline to apply for the internship, which will pay $8.25 to $9.50 an hour, is 5 p.m. May 30.

  1. That’s great to provide an oppurtunity to a college student for the summer. Now, how about you Jason Ervin disclosing your proof of residency, ownerships and affiliations to the residents of the 28th Ward as well as the citizens of the City of Chicago. Lead by example!!!!
