28th Ward residents invited to party

By |

Newly elected 28th Ward Ald. Jason Ervin and the man he replaced – Democratic Committeeman Ed Smith – are inviting residents to a pre-inaugural celebration and birthday party for Ervin.

This dual-themed celebration “Black & White Affair” is free and will be held at B&B’s Banquet Hall May 14th at 8 pm., 4422 W. Madison St.

“I want the residents of the 28th Ward to celebrate a new era in government and enjoy themselves,” Ervin said in a press release. “We are taking the ward to the next level and will focus on creating jobs, cleaning up communities and making them safer for children.”

The new 50-member Chicago City Council – along with new Mayor Rahm Emanuel – will be sworn in May 16. For a list of activities – which includes a city-wide day of service Saturday and a free concert – click here.

  1. There are Pre-Inaugural events all around the City for all offices, including Mayor. Have you written this comment on their page? How about our community start supporting each other instead of putting each other down?
I called Alderman Ervin’s office about cleaning up a lot next to my home and they were out here within days to satisfy my request.
