Malcolm X College in partnership with the Westside Ministers Coalition, the Business and Human Resource Center, Westside Jobs Collaborative and the Illinois Department of Employment Security will holds its fall “Resource and Job Connection Fairs” Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren St.

The Job Connection is a two-day resource and employment for unemployed workers in Chicago, including youth, dislocated workers, ex-offenders, persons with disabilities and veterans.

Participants must attend both days.

On Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., applicants will register, be assessed, get  referrals for social services and be invited to meet with employers the second day. Nearly 60 social service agencies will be onhand. On Oct 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., more than 40 employers will be present to start the interview and application process for qualified job seekers.

The Westside Jobs Collaborative developed the two-day resource and employment model to assist employers by pre-screening job seekers for soft and hard skills, and providing job seekers with education, training and support services who need a little help in becoming job ready.
