Convicted felon arrested in Austin

Bobby Gause, 40, of the 4600 block of West Monroe was arrested and charged Tuesday as an armed habitual criminal. Gause was also charged with counts of possessing crack cocaine and heroin, as well as a count of  manufacturing/ delivery of  500 to 2,000 grams of marijuana and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

District 15 patrol officers, with the assistance of Austin District Tactical Units, executed a search warrant Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. at Gause’s residence.

During a search of Gause’s home, police reported discovering 1,227 grams of marijuana, 48 grams of crack cocaine and 19 grams of heroin; an assault rifle, a sub machine gun and ammunition; and $1,032.

Gause was scheduled to appear in bond court today.
