Join the cultural conversation at the Austin Town Hall Park, 5610 W. Lake St., March 15, as part of the Chicago Cultural Plan 2012.
The City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events is encouraging residents to share stories and ideas about arts and culture in of all 77 communities in the city to help create the blueprint for Chicago’s cultural future.
According to the city’s website, the 2012 event is the third cultural plan the city has hosted. In 1986 and 1995, the city developed similar plans to address cultural needs and opportunities in Chicago.
The 2012 Chicago Cultural Plan will address many of the same issues presented in previous years and aims to build on Chicago’s vast cultural assets and vibrant community.
Some of the topics covered include:
- Cultural Policy in City Government
- Citywide Communications and Cooperation
- Facilities
