There’s a community-led renaissance happening in Austin. Join residents, community leaders and others on Saturday, Jan. 21st to learn about it.
The Austin Forward Together (AFT) community summit will celebrate the progress of the AFT quality-of-life plan, which is a set of strategic goals created by and for Austin.
Since its release in December 2018, over 42% of plan actions have been initialized by over 45 volunteer leaders working alongside 79 unique organizations and nearly $50 million of investments have been generated.
This year’s Community Summit – which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at By The Hand Club For Kids, 415 N. Laramie – aims to inspire and bring more residents and stakeholders into the AFT process going into its fifth year of implementation.
The event will feature a special performance; a panel discussion on large-scale development projects in the Austin area (such as the Laramie State Bank, BUILD’s new facility, By The Hand Club For Kids’ North Austin Community Center and more); a discussion on what community ownership looks like; and immersive breakout sessions with AFT task forces to learn more about successes, challenges and how to get involved.
