A West Side town hall meeting inviting customers to provide feedback about proposed post office closures and consolidations will be held at the New Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 W. Washington Blvd., Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m.
This is one of eight meetings the U.S. Postal Service has organized for the public to weigh in on the 12 Chicago District locations on their study list.
NBC Chicago reported on the first meeting, which was held in Chinatown Monday night.
Here’s the schedule for the six remaining public meetings provided by the U.S.Postal Service (all meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. except where noted):
- Station U – Thursday, Oct. 20
University Church, 5655 S. University Ave - Englewood – Saturday, Oct. 22 (10 a.m. – noon)
7th District Police Station, 1438 W. 63rd St. - Ogden Park – Saturday, Oct. 22 (2 to 4 p.m.)
Evening Star Baptist Church, 2020 W. 59th St. - Ashburn – Monday, Oct. 24
Monument of Faith, 2750 W. Columbus Ave. - Mary Alice Henry, Nancy B Jefferson, Otis Grant Collins, Rev. Milton R. Brunson & Robert LeFlore – Tuesday, Oct. 25
New Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 W. Washington Blvd. - Haymarket – Wednesday, Oct. 26

AustinTalks reported in July that three West Side post offices – 4222 W. Madison St., 324 S. Laramie Ave. and 5001 W. Division St. – are among nearly 3,700 nationwide being considered for closure. To read the rest of that story, click here.
