More than 170 sites across Chicago – including nine in Austin – will be open to the public this weekend at no cost as part of the annual Open House Chicago weekend.
It’s a rare chance to see some of Chicago’s architectural gems up close on Saturday, Oct. 14 or Sunday, Oct. 15, though some sites aren’t open both days. More than 20 Chicago neighborhoods are featured this year.
Here are the Austin sites:
- Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Ave. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.)
- Austin Community Family Center, 501 N. Central Ave. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
- BUILD Headquarters, 5100 W. Harrison St. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.)
- Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School, 5088 W. Jackson Blvd. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 4 p.m.)
- Fraternité Notre Dame, 502 N. Central Ave. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.)
- North Austin Center, 1841 N. Laramie Ave. (Closed Saturday, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 5700 W. Midway Park (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.)
- Third Unitarian Church, 301 N. Mayfield Ave. (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday)
