Emergency heating repair program begins accepting applicants Nov. 1

Applications for the the Chicago Department of Housing’s emergency heating repair program are now being accepted.

The grants help pay for emergency furnace and/or boiler repairs for homeowners who are income eligible and live in one- to four-unit residential buildings.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and funding is limited, so residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Residents who have an email address can apply online at www.chicago.gov/ehrp; by calling the city’s 311 service line; or by using the CHI311 app.

Residents who don’t have an email can call 311 to be sent a paper application, which should be returned to the Department of Housing, attention Emergency Heating Repair Program. The address is 121 N. LaSalle, Room 1000, 10th Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60602.
