In response to CPS’s vaccine awareness day this Friday, the Walgreens store at 5222 W. Madison St., will offer a one-day COVID clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for children 5 to 11 years old.

CPS announced last week that all schools would be closed Friday to encourage as many young people as possible to get vaccinated.

To get a shot at Friday’s clinic, an appointment must be made; walk-ins will not be accepted. And parents or guardians must accompany the child. Click here to make an appointment.

CPS continues to operate its own COVID-19 vaccine sites that are open weekly Tuesday throu7gh Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shots are given on Thursdays at Michele Clark High School at 5101 W. Harrison.
