Even though today’s temperatures are in the 30’s, spring will be here very soon. Some people have already been out to the Harambee garden, at the corner of Race and Waller, and planted radishes and spinich. (Nothing quite gets you in the mood to garden like root vegetables!)
We have some very exciting opportunities this season. The Austin Library is going to be participating at Harambee, and to help promote the garden, we have set up a growing station in the library at 5615 W. Race. (Seedlings are already sprouted!)
Our meeting Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to noon will cover a number of things, including:
- Rebuilding more beds this season
- Raising extra funds through our partner non-profit Shawnash
- Getting a new water source
- Assigning beds to new gardeners
- Creating a space off the alley for soil deliveries.
We look forward to seeing you!
