The Chicago Park District presents “Of Quiet Birds,” a play by Loretta A. Hawkins at the Austin Town Hall through March 19th.
The play, directed by Dionne Hawkins, is set in North Carolina in 1955 and features a 17-year-old girl who’s fighting for her right to exist in an equal society.
Admission to the play – being staged 7 p.m. both Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at the Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St. – is $5.
There are eight actors and actresses: Arron Baugh, Cleveland Gidney, Chole Grace, Jamie McDonald, Anthony Malone, Tykeshia Shanklin, Jennifer White and Haryu Wooten.
