Walk-ups are welcome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the North Austin library branch, 5724 W. North Ave. No IDs are required; free masks, hand sanitizer and community resources will be available.
Stop by at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27 at Zoe Life Ministries International, 5151 W. Madison St., to get tested, pick up free face masks and also complete the census.
Walk-up testing is available June 23 and 24 for anyone wanting to be tested for the coronavirus. The testing site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Austin Health Center, 4814 W. Chicago Ave.
West Side residents can be tested for the coronavirus at Loretto Hospital at 645 S. Central Ave.; PCC Community Wellness Center at 330 N. Lotus Ave.; and at the former Walgreens at 1606 N. Mobile Ave.
Eighty-two Austin residents have died since the pandemic hit earlier this spring, health officials said Saturday. The residents have ranged in age from 26 to 97 years old, with most deaths being of those over 60.
Four Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Chicago – including PCC Community Wellness Center, which operates two sites in Austin, and the Lawndale Christian Health Center – will expand testing on the West and South sides over the next several days to an additional 400 tests per day.
On June 27, Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS are offering free, confidential HIV testing and counseling in three Walgreens Austin locations. No appointment is needed, and results will be available immediately on site.
