Ald. Jason Ervin will host a 9.a.m town hall meeting Wednesday at the 10th District Police Station, 3315 W. Ogden Ave., for West Side business owners interested in obtaining grants to assist with building improvement projects.
The Small Business Improvement Fund, launched in 2000, provides financial assistance to business owners throughout the city for projects, including new windows, electrical and plumbing systems, roofing and awnings.
The program reimburses owners 25 to 75 percent – up to $150,000 – of total repair costs for eligible expenses.
In August 2010, AustinTalks reported business owners on Madison Avenue were eligible to receive the grants. Assistance is now available to the Midwest TIF District.
