It was brought to our attention that three opinion pieces published in the last month under Edward Egypt Williams’ byline contained material from other sources that were not credited. We have removed the commentary from our Web site. Please accept our apology.
Mr. Williams’ asks that we share this with you:
Stephan R. Covey once said, ”It takes a great deal of character strength to apologize quickly out of one’s heart rather than out of pity. A person must possess himself and have a deep sense of security in fundamental principles and values in order to genuinely apologize.”
I want to apologize for my lack of fundamental principles in proclaiming to write material without giving acknowledgment to the sources. AustinTalks have always sought to publish articles that provide informative material which motivates, educates and stimulates readers. I violated that integrity and take full responsibility for my failings. I offer no excuse to justify my actions. I request that readers not hold anyone from AustinTalks responsible for my conduct, because their intentions were genuine and devoid of malicious intent. I write this statement without any force or threat, but out of pure contrition and take ownership of my fault. I pray that you continue to read and voice your thoughts, and put the acquired information into action in your respected part of the community and world.
Sincerely,
Edward Egypt Williams
